A timeless friendship.

It’s 6’O clock! A fine evening to have a coffee with my favorite playlist being played on my speakers. I was feeling enthralled by the aura of the music and the sips of coffee as the clock on the wall starting losing ticks as the beats suppressed them. Suddenly, my phone rang and my mother called me to ensure that I’ve picked my joggers from the balcony. It seems that it was about to rain. I came out of my room and caught a sight of grey clouds and lightening. Soon after, rain kicked in and the thought of joggers re – entered my mind.

As those brutal drops of rain started to descend like bullets from hell, I made a slight peek from my floor. I heard a little whimpering from the corner of the street. It took no more than a jiffy to figure out that those were the helpless dogs whom I’ve been feeding for a year.

What were the other peeps doing?

Why don’t we have time to stand and stare?

Isn’t there someone who can fetch them food and shelter?

Can’t someone act like a human here?

Like if Mohit Thorecha concerned himself with these questions.  The answer will be antagonistic to what we all desire to hear but reality has other plans. I anticipated and accepted it as it was enacted in the real world. If those people can’t perform their character of being a human, the least I can do is to portray myself better.

I rushed downstairs and whistled in my characteristic way and all of a sudden, I was surrounded by 5 – 6 wagging tails. You can call them man’s oldest friend, cute, helpless, loyal, etc.

But I called them as a FRIEND.

Isn’t it wonderful that in a single bark, they can express everything they want to say? Us, on the other hand, got limitless words but still we don’t spare a moment of affection or mercy for them. They are beaten, abused or even raped by so called humans.

I bet all of you that if you look in their eyes, you can’t even dare to raise your voice. I mean everyday they keep searching for food and food and the cycle repeats itself on daily basis.

In return, what do they get? Pebbles pelted on the face; sticks slammed on their backs. There are many stuffs that I can’t write about is still going on just for the sake of expecting food from strangers.

Where were we? Ah yes! A fine evening to enjoy a coffee. I don’t think that no feeling can ever beat the satisfaction attained by feeding and spending time with these guys. For some of those, I am like Spider – man to their New York. I didn’t get the great power, but I’m surely aware of my great responsibility. If there is only a single ray of hope to ponder, that would be the immortal expectation for love by these dogs.

I was inspired by the deeds of famous singer Mohit Chauhan, who recently completed a span of 2.5 years of feeding stray dogs on daily basis. Not only celebrities like Mohit Chauhan or Orlando Bloom, there are many dark knights working for stray dog’s welfare.

In the end, I would like to conclude with the request that whenever you spot a dog or any other stray animal, do feed them because there are not so many shoulders to rely on and you’re provided an opportunity in that moment to be a ray of hope. In some cases, if you see any wounds, then ask for medical assistance.

Do remember that A FRIEND IN NEED, IS A FRIEND INDEED.
